There is no doubt that larger camcorders typically have high megapixel support and are easier to edit as a result. Although the reality is that the average consumer of camcorders is someone who intends to use it on certain occasions, and is unlikely to use any additional effort to crop portions of pictures or films for quality sake. Generally the average buyer of the HD camcorder will go with your typical 8 x 11” image size.
A digital HD camcorder that supports 9+ megapixels is more than enough required just to capture a simple nice photo. It’s in your best interest to invest in a digital camcorder that is able to meet your needs and wants. With that said, you won’t have to go out and purchase a digital camera with 13.8 megapixel support in order to take nice pictures. A nice micro mini camcorder should be enough to complete the job for you.
The vast majority of HD micro camcorders out there support optical zoom up to 4 times. The surprising thing is that a small micro mini camcorder may support optical zoom up to 12 times. The end result is that, whether you would like to take an image while at the back of a live rock show or a close up, it’s possible for you to take that film or image with little hassle. So going out and purchasing a Muvi micro camcorder, Veho Muvi micro DV camcorder, or my favourite, the Aiptek DV5900 5 megapixel mini camcorder, would be an excellent buy as it would be able to meet all your requirements.
The best thing about these mini camcorders when you purchase them are the fact that they are powered by a lithium-ion and AA battery. The best thing about these particular battery types is the fact that they do not cost half as much as the batteries required for the larger 10+ megapixel variety. With the larger camcorders it can often be rather difficult for you to install new batteries in them. The second thing is that AA batteries are very convenient, especially for those who decide to go on a trip to the seaside or camping, because all they need to bring along with them is the camcorder and some spare batteries.
Now, is it possible for you to do this with a much larger camcorder? Of course not, unless you have the money to spend on the big battery that is required for these larger camcorders, which ultimately will affect its performance while you are on your travels.
For starters check out at least a single Muvi micro DV camcorder review, as that’s definitely a flagship model.
